I’m Louis Hernandez, a New York-born, Philadelphia-based video editor/producer. I combine my creativity with technical rigor to create work that lifts donations and drives repeat viewing. I run lean, prepared crews and deliver on schedule.
Why I make films
My first film was a Lupus awareness video with my mom and sisters. It showed me that film can reveal honest moments and communicate truths that are hard to express elsewhere. That blend of technology and story still guides me.
How I work
- Listen first. A focused discovery call to clarify the core truth, audience, and success metrics.
- Map the work. A transparent roadmap from development to delivery with clear milestones.
- Prepared and agile. We show up with shot lists and contingencies and adapt when reality shifts.
- Tools serve people. Redundant audio, backup media, and shooting for the editor keep days resilient.
- Finish fast. Clean handoffs and publish-ready files as soon as you approve.
Proof it works
- Nonprofit short that drove an immediate uptick in donations
- High watch time and repeat viewing across documentary and brand work
- Clients describe my films as “earnest, honest, and replayable”
A lesson I carry
Early in my career, a misloaded 16mm reel cost a portion of a project. I still delivered a cohesive story in the edit, and I left with a deeper commitment to testing, labeling, and redundancy on every set.
