My father worked nights. This meant my sisters and I had to keep quiet
during the day, especially when we couldn't go outside. So we entertained ourselves primarily in two ways:
Watching movies (On VHS of course) or playing the self-designed (and aptly named) improv game, "Make Me Laugh". We would try anything to make
each other laugh and bonus points were awarded if the person in the hot seat got in trouble for laughing too hard.
This game accomplished it's immediate task of conquering boredom, but looking back now it also planted a seed that
has shaped my video career today. It taught me the valuable lesson of creating from a place of love. It showed me the impact of making uplifting, encouraging, or sometimes downright silly content.
Throughout my career I have worked with many different non-profits and churches to create this type of content today. I have learned to rely on this worldview even in the midst of challenges and deadlines.
Today, in a world of rapid content ingestion (or rather indigestion), I am determined to create and collaborate on work that shares this philosophy.
